Do you carry a first aid kit?
Have you ever been to the park with your kids and one of them scraps their knee or gets a splinter?
How about on a car trip and someone gets a nosebleed?
Or maybe you’re at the pool on a family vacation your toddler nephew cuts his toe? Yes, very specific – because it happened to me! But I had my first aid kit handy. So I cleaned up his foot, threw on a bandaid, and he was good to keep playing! No mess, no stress.
There are probably a hundred situations where a first aid kit would come in handy – not only to treat the injury, but also to save you the time and headache of tracking down help for a minor issue.
Be the family hero – carry a first aid kit!
A basic first aid kit is a great, easy tool to carry around. Many people don’t feel the need, or have the training, to carry around a full trauma kit. But a small kit with some antibacterial wipes and bandaids? That’s helpful for anybody.
The nice thing about a basic, entry level kit is that you can probably throw it together yourself from things already found in your bathroom drawers or kitchen.
A few bandaids, a couple alcohol pads, some ibuprofen, an electrolyte powder packet… just put it all in a ziploc bag or small container and you’re ready to go!
Get a pocket-sized first aid kit now while your thinking about it! Buy a few and put them in your backpack, purse, car, or give them to family members.
